. 2. YakimaHerald.com, 18 Apr 2014: MOXEE - Tanner was received into the loving arms of our Lord on Friday,
. April 11, 2014 while at the family farm in Moxee, Washington. Tanner was born on March 31, 1992 in Seattle,
. Washington. At age 5 he and his family moved to the Nester Farm where he was raised with his two brothers along
. with his five cousins and their families. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Linda Hoeglund. After his
. graduation from East Valley High School in Moxee, he moved to Louisiana and worked as a server in several res-
. taurants where he made many new friends and found a special relationship with his girlfriend Jacie Lane Ray.
. Sports like wrestling, baseball and football filled his childhood and young adult life. Tanner’s true giving spirit
. shined best when he was introduced to God by a friend who invited him to Youth Group. He enjoyed church camp
. and retreats out of state helping other teens in need. He loved jamming on his guitar with friends. He loved all
. genres of music, and even spent time as a morning disc jockey on YVCC radio. Tanner had the incredible ability to
. do impersonations and foreign accents that kept everyone in stitches. He was one of those kids who could literally
. do anything. He would challenge the best to a spirited game of ping pong or wiffle ball and everyone would leave a
. winner. From the earliest moments of Tanner’s life, he became known as a fun loving, care-free, independent
. personality. He loved to entertain his family and friends. His sense of humor became a familiar joy, bringing smiles
. and laughter to every occasion. Tanner’s confident, impulsive behaviors would often become a kind of catalyst for
. others to let loose and enthusiastically enjoy the moment. Tanner was one of a kind. His smile and kind heart are
. what we will remember and miss the most.
. Tanner is survived by his father and mother, Rob and Kathy Nester of Moxee, Wa.; older brother, Jacob Nester of
. Yakima, Wa.; and younger brother, Damon Nester of Moxee, Wa. He is also survived by his grandparents, Neil
. Hoeglund of Eatonville, Wa., and Ron and Marilyn Nester of Moxee, Wa.; uncles and aunts, Keith (Carolyn), of
. Seattle; Suzy (Todd), of Moxee; Dan (RuthAnn), of Lake Stevens; Karen, of Utah; Teri (Rod), of Bellevue;
. Jennifer, of Florida and his cousins: Jadon, Tara, Chad, Nathan, Dillan, Johnathan, Christopher, Amanda, Rebecca,
. Dan, Carissa, Ben, Annie, Madison, Rachel, Danielle and Ashley, who named her cat after Tanner.
. Tanner will always be admired for his caring disposition and desire to help others. He would always put others’
. needs before his own. He will be forever remembered as a happy, thoughtful, and loving son, brother, grandson,
. cousin, and friend. There is great comfort knowing that he is now in God’s compassionate care....
. 3. kimatv.com: YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- On Monday, a heroin dealer was sentenced who had a client over-
. dose from his product. Jessie Arroyo struck a plea deal to manslaughter and was given a sentence of more than two
. years. He had faced homicide charges. Arroyo sold the heroin to Tanner Nester that he overdosed on last spring.
. The family of the victim was not in the courtroom, but Arroyo apologized for his role in their loss. "I'm taking
. advantage of this program and this time in my life as best I can to become a better citizen and change my ways, so
. this never happens again," Arroyo said. "I don't want anyone to ever feel this way." "The only thing you can do,
. because Tanner's gone, what you can make sure however, is that you're not responsible for creating a situation that
. anybody else chooses to exercise those poor type of choices," said Hon. Ruth Reukauf with the Yakima County
. Superior Court.
